There is a notable <a href=\"https:\/\/doctors108.com\/articles\/for-doctors\/gst-on-healthcare-services-whats-exempt-whats-not\/\">exemption<\/a>: graduates who completed their undergraduate medical degree in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States are exempted from taking FMGE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"exam-format\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exam Format<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FMGE is a single-paper, computer-based examination consisting of 300 multiple-choice questions, split into two parts of 150 questions each, over a total duration of five hours. It covers all 19 subjects of the standard MBBS curriculum. To pass, a candidate must score at least 150 out of 300 \u2014 a straightforward 50% cutoff that has remained consistent across sessions. However, the NMC has repeatedly deferred NExT&#8217;s implementation, citing legal, infrastructural, and logistical challenges \u2014 the current expectation, as of this writing, is that NExT for domestic MBBS graduates may begin around 2028, with no confirmed implementation date yet announced specifically for foreign medical graduates.
